Welcome to my home on the Internet!

My name is George Moye and I
am a Bass guitarist, Rhythm guitarist, and music arranger, and have been playing bass for 30 years. I've been influenced by some of the world’s Greatest Funk legends in music history. These include George Clinton and Funkadelick, Roger Troutman and Zapp, Lakeside, The Ohio Players, The O’Jays, and Bobby Womack to name a few.

Being a Native from Lorain Ohio a western suburb of Cleveland is what initially sparked my interest in music. I grew up watching these entertainers developing their craft and making music history.

There was a dance hall called the Elks Farm in Lorain, its location was back in the woods on the outskirts of the town. It was there we would perform and observe these artists as we developed our own craft and played numerous sold out shows.

I put together a family band consisting of my twin nephews and myself. Russell Moye playing rhythm guitar and Randy Moye on drums. We had our first gig at the school talent show, we were in the 4th grade. By the time we attended High School we had recruited more members and the family band became ten- pieces strong and performed locally and regionally as The Fabulous Techniques.

I've lived in Minneapolis Minnesota for the past 20 plus years and I love the music scene here. There is a lot of great talent in the Twin Cities area. I hold the bass chair for local and national artists and I am what you call a first call sub. That means that I never know what band I going to play with. It could be anything ranging from, Funk, Latin, County, Blues, Hip-Hop, Jazz or Gospel.

I have had the opportunity to experience different styles of music from an early age and I sincerely enjoy every aspect of the craft. I have performed live, recorded and held the bass chair for Sam Butler, former lead guitarist, for Grammy award winning gospel artists, The Five Blind Boys of Alabama. Sam also has a release with Keith Richard’s of the Rolling Stones and his latest release with his wife and kids The Butlers.

Recently, I recorded with Dan Maharr, former lead guitarist for Grammy award winning country artist Billy Dean, In addition, over the years I have recorded with lifetime friend Keybordist Mark Leach, music director for Grammy award winning Legend Buddy Miles.

Some of the artists I have played with include:

My daughter Malina Moye who has been singing, playing guitar, songwriting, and arranging music since she was 9-years-old. (Check out her website at www.Malinamoye.com) as well as my sons, Tyrone and George Moye Jr. along with female rapper A. Tadesse A.k.A. Conritst on the CD entitled "Layzie Bone presents Conrtist Entrapment book one." (Check them out at www.conrtist.com )
It is my humble opinion that these young artists inspire, excite and deliver a sense of freshness not often seen today.

Last but not least Giving all the Glory and Praise to God, I hold the bass chair for the Rosemount United Methodist Church. I play with the praise team called the N.O.W. Team, every Sunday in Rosemount MN, when I have the opportunity. Stop in anytime and experience it.
