Songs From The Road
Live in Dortmund, Germany
The Story
George Moye grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, picking up guitar before falling for the low end. After watching a local band tear it up in the basement of a neighborhood church, he and his twin nephews formed The Fabulous Techniques Show Band — playing northeastern Ohio for the better part of a decade.
When the band wound down, George cut his teeth on studio work at Suma Recording Studio in Painesville. Today he plays bass and rhythm guitar, arranges, and keeps an active touring schedule across Europe — Germany, Sweden, Holland, France, Italy, the UK and beyond.
In 2010 he recorded live with the Bernard Allison Group in Freiburg, Germany — released as a DVD and double CD on Jazzhaus Records. His 2019 live record Songs From The Road was captured in Dortmund.
"We knew then and there that music was what we wanted to do with our lives."

Word on George
"What I like about George Moye's (my daddy's) style and playing is that it is Fon-Kay, and in the pocket. You ever hear the sound of a train coming and it feels like it's getting closer and closer — that's George's bass. It swells but it never leaves the pocket. His tone and precision is nothing short of perfection."
"George Moye is a world class player with huge heart. Cat's got the grease and knows exactly what's up when it comes to locking down a nasty groove — my kind of player."
"George is the guy to go to if you're serious about having a 1st call world class bass player. He's truly a down to earth, dependable, dedicated, well rehearsed player."
"A rock solid bass player and a rock solid person. George Moye has both feet on the ground and a bass in his hands — and knows how to handle all four. Makes my kind of people."
